My hope is to inspire a dialogue about the challenges students face. When we ask them how they are, they respond with a complacent, "fine."

In the classroom after discussing the topic of adversity and reading some stories about people who overcame challenges, I had them write about personal adversities. That is when I knew I had to share some of their stories.
