Three points in response:

1. I am not making "big money" but I am getting paid for writing.

2. Since I write anyways, Medium offers an avenue to gain some "extra" money.

3. Fact: In seven months I wrote 155 posts and earned 1,950 dollars. My cruise cost 1,500 and it was awesome.
